Yes, you can change the status length without any software. Just follow these steps:
1. Close Y!M
2. Go to C:\Program Files\Yahoo!\Messenger\Cache
3. Open system.xml with Notepad
4. Find <max_custom_status>40</max_custom_status>

5. Replace with  <max_custom_status>100</max_custom_status>,  or any other value
6. Save the file
7. Start Yahoo Messenger
That’s it. Enjoy!

Note: Work on versions older than Y!M 9.

Executa urmatorii pasi pentru a nu mai avea restrictia de caractere la status !

1.Închide-ti messengerul.

2.Dute în My computer\C:\Program Files\Yahoo!\Messenger\Cache

3.Deschide system.xml cu Notepad ( click dreapta, open with, selectati Notepad, ok )

4.Gaseste linia urmatoare: <max_custom_status>40</max_custom_status>

5.Înlocuiesti cu <max_custom_status>100</max_custom_status>, sau cu ce alta valoare doriti.

6.Salvati fisierul.

7.Deschide-ti messengerul.Asta e tot ! Distractie placuta !

NOTA: Merge la versiuni mai vechi fata de Y!M 9 !
